One of our most flexible programs, designed for the NGOs needs, was at the same time the longest grant making program of the Foundation, being implemented from 1999 to 2011. The program aimed to strengthen the capacity of environmental NGOs and stimulate public participation in the environmental decision-making. In over 12 years there were funded 270 projects worth 3,364,869 RON. Most of the projects funded focused on protected areas, water management and urban ecology issues but also on ecotourism and rural sustainable development. There were also supported watchdog and advocacy type activities.
The program was funded by The German Marshall Fund, Charles Stuart Mott Foundation, Rockefeller Brothers Fund and Apemin Tušnad SA.
