Representatives of more than 150 civil society organisations and platforms from 28 European countries gathered in Bucharest for the International Civil Society Forum urge EU leaders to actively support civil society in order to maintain its role of defending democracy, rule of law and fundamental rights of citizens.
The Active Citizens Fund programme, is part of the EEA and Norway Grants 2014-2021, will made available Euro 46,000,000 for financing non-governmental organizations over the next 6 years.The programme is operated by the Consortium composed of the Civil Society Development Foundation, Romanian Environmental Partnership Foundation, Resource Center for Roma Communities, PACT Foundation and Frivillighet Norge.
Taking into consideration the available financial allocation, a number of 47 projects were recommended to be financed (32 on Social Component and 15 on Environmental Component). Total contracted amount is of CHF 5,101,293.
On March 18th, 2014, the Swiss Intermediate Body (SIB) - a consortium formed by KEK-CDC Consultants, the Civil Society Development Foundation and the Romanian Environmental Partnership Foundation - for the Thematic Fund “Partnership and Expert Fund” launched the 2nd Call for Proposals for the Partnership Block Grant that is aiming to promote and/or enhance the institutional partnerships between Romanian and Swiss partners in order to contribute to the solution of specific developments challenges, to strengthen the capacities and structures of the Romanian partners, to benefit from Swiss added value and to contribute to the strengthening of the partnerships. Small grants ranging from CHF 10,000 to CHF 100,000 and large grants ranging from CHF 100,001 to CHF 250,000 are offered.
